Alyam Terms of Use

Welcome to Alyam. These terms explain the rules for using our site and what you can expect from us. Please read them before you join. We have tried to keep them short and clear.

1. Who we are

Alyam is run by Mayla Santiago, trading as Alyam (sole trader). Contact us by email at alyam.info@gmail.com. A postal address is available on request. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Alyam, and "you" means you, the person using the site.

These terms apply to alyam.co.uk and any other address we use for the site during the beta (for example curve-code-confidence.lovable.app), including the Community, Curve Code and the Fashion Hub. Together we call these "the site" or "Alyam".

2. Accepting these terms

By joining the beta list, creating an account or using Alyam, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we use your personal information, and our Affiliate Disclosure explains how affiliate links work. Both are part of how we run Alyam and are worth reading.

3. You must be 18 or over

Alyam is for adults only. You must be 18 or over to join the beta list, create an account or use any part of the site. By using Alyam you confirm that you are 18 or over.

If we find out that someone under 18 has signed up, we will close the account and delete their information.

4. Alyam is in beta

Alyam is currently in a free beta. This means:

  • We are still building and testing, so features may change, be paused or be removed.
  • Things may sometimes not work perfectly, and the site may be unavailable at times.
  • We provide the beta "as is" and "as available", without promises that it will be error free or always available.
  • We would love your feedback, and we may use it to improve Alyam without owing you anything for it.

5. Your account

To use some parts of Alyam you need an account. Please:

  • give us accurate information and keep it up to date
  • keep your password private and use one you do not use elsewhere
  • not share your account or let anyone else use it
  • tell us straight away at alyam.info@gmail.com if you think someone has accessed your account

You are responsible for what happens on your account unless it was caused by someone else and you were not careless. You can close your account at any time by emailing us [OR: using the option in your account settings].

6. Community rules

Our Community is a supportive space for women to share experiences about fit, style and confidence. To keep it that way, everyone agrees to these rules.

Please do:

  • be kind, respectful and supportive, even when you disagree
  • respect other members' privacy
  • report anything that worries you

Please do not:

  • harass, bully, threaten, shame or intimidate anyone
  • make sexualised comments or post sexualised, nude or explicit images
  • post anything hateful or discriminatory, including about someone's body, size, race, religion, disability, sexuality or gender identity
  • sell, advertise or promote products or services, or send other members unsolicited sales messages, unless we have agreed to it in writing
  • share other people's personal information or photos without their permission
  • post anything illegal, misleading, or that infringes someone else's rights
  • pretend to be someone else
  • post spam, links to harmful sites or anything that could damage the site

Health information. Posts can reveal things about your body or health. Please only share this kind of information if you are comfortable with other members seeing it. Nothing in the Community is medical advice. If you have health concerns, please speak to a doctor or other qualified professional.

7. Moderation

Our Community is moderated by real people. To keep members safe, we may:

  • review, edit, hide or remove any post, comment or image
  • give warnings
  • suspend or close accounts that break these rules

We will act fairly and in proportion to the problem, but we may act without warning where we think someone is at risk or the law requires it.

8. Reporting content and complaints

If you see something in the Community that breaks these rules, is illegal or makes you feel unsafe, please email alyam.info@gmail.com with the subject line "Report", and tell us where the content is and what the problem is.

You can also email us if:

  • you want to complain about how we handled a report
  • your own content was removed or your account was restricted and you think we got it wrong
  • you have any other concern about safety on Alyam

We will acknowledge your report or complaint within [2 WORKING DAYS] and aim to respond fully within [14 DAYS]. We take every report seriously and will tell you what we decided.

If you think someone is in immediate danger, please contact the emergency services on 999.

9. Your content

You own the posts, comments and images you share on Alyam.

So that we can run the service, you give us a limited, non exclusive, royalty free licence to store, display and share your content within Alyam, and to make the technical copies needed to do this. This licence ends when you delete your content or close your account, except for copies we need to keep for a short time in backups or for safety or legal reasons, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

We will not use your posts in our marketing, or share them outside Alyam, without asking you first.

You confirm that you have the right to share anything you post, and that it follows these terms.

10. Curve Code and fit guidance

Curve Code helps you take measurements at home and creates a fit profile with suggestions. Please remember:

  • It is guidance only. Our fit profiles and recommendations are suggestions to help you shop with more confidence. They are not a guarantee that any item will fit you.
  • Results depend on your measurements. Measuring at home can vary, so results are only as accurate as the measurements entered.
  • Brands differ. Sizing varies between brands and even between items from the same brand.
  • It is not medical advice. Curve Code is not a medical or professional fitting service.

Always check the retailer's own size guide and returns policy before you buy.

11. Fashion Hub and affiliate links

The Fashion Hub recommends clothing that may suit fuller busts. Some links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you buy something after clicking, at no extra cost to you. This helps keep Alyam running. See our Affiliate Disclosure for more.

We choose recommendations because we think they may be helpful, but:

  • we do not sell these products and are not responsible for them
  • your purchase is a contract between you and the retailer, under the retailer's terms
  • prices, stock and details may change, and we cannot guarantee they are accurate
  • a recommendation is not a guarantee of fit, quality or suitability

12. Our intellectual property

Alyam's name, logo, design, text, graphics, Curve Code and other site content belong to us or the people who license them to us. You may use the site for your own personal, non commercial use. Please do not copy, sell, scrape or reuse our content or tools without our written permission.

13. Future paid membership

Alyam is free during the beta. In future, we may offer a paid Founding membership. If we do:

  • we will tell you the price, what is included and how to cancel before you pay
  • you will never be charged without agreeing first
  • payments will be processed securely by our payment provider, [Stripe], which handles your card details. Alyam never sees or stores your full card number
  • we will add payment terms, including your cancellation rights under UK consumer law, to these terms when membership launches

14. Ending your use of Alyam

You can stop using Alyam and close your account at any time.

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if we need to for legal or safety reasons, or if we close the beta or the service. Where reasonable, we will give you notice and a chance to download anything you want to keep. If we close the service entirely, we will try to give you at least [30 DAYS] notice.

15. Our responsibility to you

We want Alyam to be helpful, but because the beta is free and still being developed, our responsibility is limited as follows.

What we do not exclude. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under UK law. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

What we are not responsible for. As long as we have used reasonable care and skill, we are not responsible for:

  • losses that were not reasonably foreseeable
  • clothing or other products you buy from retailers, including whether they fit
  • content posted by other members, although we will act on reports
  • other websites we link to
  • the site being temporarily unavailable during the beta
  • any business losses, as Alyam is for personal use only

Digital content. If any digital content we provide damages your device or other digital content because we did not use reasonable care and skill, we will either repair the damage or pay you fair compensation.

Our total liability. Otherwise, our total liability to you for anything arising from your use of the free beta is limited to [£100].

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Alyam changes, for example when we add new features or paid membership. We will change the "Last updated" date at the top. If the changes are important, we will tell you by email or on the site before they take effect. If you keep using Alyam after that, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, you can close your account.

17. Other important points

  • If any part of these terms is found to be invalid, the rest still applies.
  • If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
  • We may transfer our rights under these terms to another organisation, for example if Alyam is sold, but this will not reduce your rights.
  • Only you and we have rights under these terms.

18. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts, and you keep any rights you have under the law where you live.
